Candlelite Inn: Strawberries with Brown Sugar and Balsamic Vinegar

With Easter around the corner, it's time to think of spring menus. This recipe is so fast and easy--not to mention that it taste so good.Try it on custard pies, pound cake or serve it plain with a dollop of sour cream sweetened with a little sugar and add a little lemon or orange zest. Lemons are another thing I associate Spring with.

4 cups of halved or quartered strawberries
 2 to 3 tsp balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar

 Place strawberries in a bowl, and sprinkle with balsamic vinegar, brown sugar and pepper. Toss, then let stand 15-20 minutes.

Candlelite Inn: April Special

Mother Nature is still playing her April Fool's on us. This is not spring weather. We had some snow this morning, but has turned into rain. I do hope that this rain will bring May flowers. But I am not going to let this get me down. So, for the month of April, the Candlelite Inn is putting on a special for all those who would like to get away and beat those winter doldrums.

Stay for 2 nights and get the 2nd night at half price or stay for 3 nights and get your 3rd night free.
