What's Happening at the Candlelite Inn

I can't believe that the last time I posted anything was back in early spring. And we still had some snow on the ground. Time sure flies by. I hope everyone's summer was a good one. The summer here at the Inn was quite busy. And the fall--the weather couldn't have been more beautiful. I did manage to slip away to see some of the color--not just from my back door.

Went to my class reunion this year and saw many of my classmates that I haven't seen since we graduated. Not going to tell you the number of the reunion. It was so good to see them again an catch up on what they are doing.

The Candlelite Inn was awarded for the second year in a row, TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence
 with a 5 star rating. The Certificate of Excellence is awarded to businesses that rank in the top 10% worldwide for traveler feedback.

As I said, we had a busy summer and fall and looking forward to the winter. We will be doing Stay & Ski packages again with Mt Sunapee Resort and of course a New Year's package and also a Valentine's package. We will be doing our Inn to Inn Snowshoe package again with the Rosewood Country Inn . Going to spruce up the website a little more and of course, I'll be posting upcoming events around the area. I will be blogging regularly to keep everyone up-to-date on what's happening here at the Candlelite Inn and the area.

From the Candlelite Inn: Spring is here

Even though it is a little chilly today, there are signs of spring all around the Candlelite Inn. I know there are some who are reading this that your spring flowers have either faded away or are already in bloom. Here in New Hampshire, the snow has finally gone. When I went out this morning to get the newspaper, I noticed that the forsythias are getting ready to open; my daffodils have buds on them and the lilacs are starting to produce their leaves and flowers.

It's time to get out of those winter doldrums and enjoy the outdoors. Here is just a sampling of what is happening this spring in the Lake Sunapee Region:

• May 4 Mt. Sunapee Open Disc Golf  Tournment
• May 10-12 A Mother's Love at the Candlelite Inn
• May 25 Mt Sunapee Adventure Park opens

Candlelite Inn: Slush Cup

Even though the weather here at the Candlelite Inn has turned warmer, the snow is melting and on the forsythia bushes there are buds. But that doesn't mean that winter has slipped away.

Not by the word at Mt Sunapee Resort. They have extended skiing until April 14th. And the fun is just beginning. On Saturday, April 6th is their annual Slush Cup. There will be prizes for the Best Skim, Best Splash, Best Costume & Best Team Costume. It's wet and wild as Mt. Sunapee puts it.

Then on April 7th is their 22nd Annual Intragalactic Cardboard Sled Race. You will see the most professionally designed sleds racing down the mountain as they vie for bragging rights.

The Candlelite Inn is only a few short miles from Mt. Sunapee Resort.

Have you notice that the days are getting longer. Days are trying to get a little warmer. Easter is around the corner. Now if that snow would only go away--and it is. Spring is here!

Candlelite Inn: Welcome Spring

Spring is officially here--So Happy Spring Everyone. Days are getting longer, the temperature is trying to climb and yes, the snow is melting.

What better way to celebrate spring is Maple Sugar Weekend. Where all the area sugar houses open their doors so their visitors can see how maple syrup is made. There will be goodies to sample, history to be talked about and products to be bought. Maple Sugar Weekend starts Saturday, March 23 and ends Sunday March 24.  

Also another spring event is FestEvol at Mt Sunapee Resort on Saturday March 23rd, featuring O.A.R. & the Pete Kilpatrick Band with special guest John Popper of Blues Traveler. You can purchase either concert tickets only or the lift/concert package.

The weather is suppose to be nice, so get out and about and Happy Spring!!!!!!!!!

It's happening again this year at Mt. Sunapee Resort "FestEvol" on Saturday, March 23rd with O.A.R. and Pete Kilpatrick Band with special guest John Popper of Blues Traveler. Tickets are available for the concert only or get the concert/lift ticket package. The Candlelite Inn is only 9 miles from Mt. Sunapee for your overnight needs. Candlelite Inn: Chocolate Lovers Beware

If chocolate is your passion, then this is just for you. The Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce & Colby Sawyer College is presenting the 18th Annual ChocolateFest from 12-2 PM at the Colby Sawyer College, Wheeler Hall, Ware Campus Center.

You will be introduced to tasty desserts, cakes, candy from area inns and restaurants. The scent of chocolate will be intoxicating, as you indulge yourself. Pastry chefs and chocolatiers will come together as they vie for the 2013 winner of the chocolate challenge. Tickets are $10 each, kids 5 and under free.

Wintertime at the Candlelite Inn

It is still winter here in the Lake Sunapee Region and at the Candlelite Inn. Still quite a bit of snow on the ground and more to come this weekend. Enjoy downhill skiing at Mt. Sunapee in Newbury or Pats Peak in Henniker, for downhill skiing--day or night--and they also have tubing. Try cross country at Norsk in Sunapee or Pine Hill Ski Club in Wilmot. There is ice skating on several town greens and snow shoeing.

If you are not the outdoors person, there is outlet shopping, antiquing, take in a movie, visit a museum or take in a winter hike. When you come back to the Candlelite Inn, hot chocolate, tea, coffee and homemade refreshments await.

I would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy & prosperous new year. It's been awhile that I have blogged--can't believe that it was May of last year. But I am back in the  swing of things.

It was a busy 2012 for me. Much has happened professionally & personally. There has been many changes in my life and here at the Inn. Made a lot of new friends and I look forward to seeing old friends again.

My goal is to keep you informed on what's going on here at the Inn. The Candlelite Inn is all about relaxing with the one you love or with friends. Not to mention, meeting new ones. I look forward to making your time here at the Candlelite Inn, one to remember. May it be the breakfast that morning or the goodies throughout the day or the quiet of the Inn and Bradford.

Inn to Inn Progressive Dinner & Maple Sugar  Weekend:--March 22-24. Three (3) area inns are putting on a 3 course progressive dinner (1 course at each Inn). Daytime, tour the area sugar houses to see how maple syrup is produced or take a sleigh ride--weather conditions permitted.
